APRIL 2010 - SPRING INTO ACTION- Character Connection: Positive Attitude

This month is a good time to spring into action with outdoor activities such as hikes, sports and games, cleaning up litter along ponds, parks or roadsides, or planting some trees for improved habitat. Make plaster casts of the animal tracks you find on your hike. Visit and talk with someone who works with wildlife conservation and visit a fish hatchery, zoo, animal shelter, or wildlife sanctuary. Bring along food and supplies that they might need as part of your "Good Turn for America." Build bird houses, bird baths, feeding stations, or boxes for nesting materials. Do a community service project with your chartered organization to show your positive attitude in doing your best. This would be a good month to work on the Conservation belt loop and pin.

March 10th- 7 p.m. Wolf/Bear/Webelos Encampment Kick-off Meeting for Leaders (Pickett's Mill District)
March 11th- 7 p.m. Pickett's Mill District Roundtable Monthly meeting for Leaders, parents and scouts (sometimes goes as late as 8:30 p.m.) Leaders suggested; others always welcome
March 12th- Paulding County School District Teacher workday - No School
March 12th- 13th  Leader Calendar planning retreat (No uniform - Adults only)
March 14th- Daylight Saving time begins
March 15th- 19th Paulding County Schools Parent Teacher Conference Week (Early Release)
March 15th- 7 p.m. Den Meeting (SUMC) Wear your uniform!
March 16th- 7 p.m. the Troop meets (SUMC) FYI
March 17th- St. Patrick's Day
March 19th- 21st Webelos Woods (Clinton Nature Reserve)
March 20th- Troop 301 BBQ sale (SUMC) $7 plates chicken & pork
March 22nd- 7 p.m. Den meetings (SUMC) Wear your uniform!  TURN IN ADVANCEMENTS
March 23rd- Troop meets (SUMC) FYIMarch 26th- 28th Woodbadge Training (Bert Adams)
March 27th- Scouting for Food Official Drop off day (we will schedule an earlier date and time - details to come)
March 27th- Zoo Atlanta Trip (8:30 a.m. departure from the church; coordinate with your den; bring money for lunch or pack a lunch)
March 29th- 7 p.m. PACK meeting!  (SUMC) Wear your uniform!  Mom & Dad bring your camera!
March 30th- Troop meets (SUMC) FYI
